I read this book by Sabrina Darby last month but never got down to writing about it because of the recent upheavals in my life.
Summary: Natasha Polinoff left her family to be Lord Marcus Templeton's mistress. Despite the love and sensuous addiction they shared, Marcus could never marry Natasha because he was firmly under his grandfather's vise-like control. So when Natasha tells him that she is pregnant (which would destroy his inheritance), Marcus is angry and wants her to terminate it. Natasha runs away.
She settles into a new life with her young daughter. After five years, Marcus finds her.
Although Natasha still loves him, she is angry with him and fears him. However, Marcus is ready to do whatever it takes to bring her back into his life.
My thoughts: As the name suggests the book is about regrets, not only of the Lord but of his lady love also. I liked Natasha and Marcus. The story is about how they resolve their problems by understanding each others’ perspective. They had believable reactions to the situations they find themselves in.
In the beginning, you tend to brand Marcus as cruel but as the story progresses you understand why he acts as he does. Natasha is a determined, strong woman, ready to make a life as a single mother at a new place far from Marcus’ reach.
Overall, this was a good, light-hearted read.
